Alice Gathe is the founder and CEO of Bold Girl Unite, a youth-led organization empowering young people through knowledge platforms and championing climate action. She is a passionate advocate for Sustainable Development Goals 5 (gender equality), 13 (climate action), and 17 (partnerships for the goals), believing in the power of collaboration for unified global impact.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics at Kenyatta University, Alice has received international recognition for her leadership and public speaking skills. She has been honored with the Global Leader Award in Dubai (2023) and recognized as an Emerging Leader in Bangkok (2022) for her impactful contributions to youth leadership and peacebuilding initiatives including advocating for SDG 5 during the Best Diplomat’s UN Simulation in Istanbul Turkey 2023.
In July 2024, Alice was awarded for being the most outstanding female delegate during Africa Youth Leadership and Entrepreneurship Conference. Sharon Wangui Gateru is a distinguished youth leader with a global reputation for her impactful contributions to sustainable development and youth empowerment. In 2023, she was honored with the prestigious title of Global Youth Emerging Leader at the Global Youth Parliament’s conference in Dubai, a testament to her commitment to fostering global change. Her leadership in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals was also recognized during the 2021 Tanzania International Model United Nations conference in Zanzibar.
Professionally, Sharon has excelled in her role at the Affecto Foundation’s Registry Department, where she demonstrated exceptional leadership, organizational acumen, and a commitment to excellence. She is also a key figure at Bold Girl Unite, a Community-Based Organization in Kiambu County, serving as Treasurer and PR and Communications personnel. In this capacity, Sharon has applied her financial expertise and strategic communication skills, passionately advocating for youth empowerment and Climate Action.
In August 2024, Sharon attended the 2nd Annual Zanzibar International Youth Tourism Summit in August 2024, where she contributed to discussions on the role of youth in promoting sustainable tourism, further highlighting her dedication to shaping a more sustainable future.
